Head Coach and Founder: Howard Cattie, Jr.
Howard J. Cattie, Jr. has over thirty years of career coaching, recruiting, sales, and sales management experience before he founded CareerOyster LLC. While he has been a hiring manager for most of that time, Howard’s real passion is helping individuals to identify their long-term goals and then, positioning them to get there. He has extensive experience in coaching jobseekers and recruiters in effective career planning, resume writing, interview coaching, and job-closing strategies. Howard has trained over four hundred recruiters and thousands of job candidates in job-seeking techniques with a specialization in candidate interview preparation.
Prior to starting CareerOyster, Howard Cattie founded and managed Custom Recruiting Services. For eleven years, he directed this recruiting firm that specialized in technology and technology sales and marketing. Howard also served as a c-level executive with three nationally-recognized recruiting and staffing companies: Source Services, ROMAC International (now KForce), and Norrell (now Spherion).
Howard Cattie’s search specialties include sales and marketing, IT, engineering, and accounting. He has managed offices and regions throughout the United States. His sales experience includes software sales experience with IBM, RESUMIX, and Conduit Software as well as seven years in computer hardware design.
Howard is a certified member of the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches (WABC) that provides executive, sales, and career coaching to management clients.
Howard J. Cattie, Jr. received a Bachelor of Science Degree from St. Joseph’s University, an MBA from Temple University, and a Master of Science degree in computer engineering from The University of Michigan.
Chief Marketing Officer: David B. Wright
David B. Wright is Chief Marketing Officer and partner in CareerOyster. David is also author of the acclaimed book, Get A Job! Your Guide to Making Successful Career Moves, and helps professionals from entry-level to C-level get better jobs, earn more money, and climb the "corporate monkey bars" faster and more effectively.
After David graduated from Georgia State University in Atlanta, he relocated to Tokyo, Japan, where he lived & worked for nearly 6 years. He has done business worldwide in several industries, ranging from shipping to I.T., with extensive experience in marketing, sales & business development, consulting, project management and process improvement. David has been on both sides of the hiring and firing desk, and had to develop powerful job-hunting skills because of his atypical background, skill set and career path. That also led to writing and publishing his first book, which has enabled David to help far more people than he could ever conceivably help one-on-one.

Chief Technology Officer: Joshua Schwarber
Joshua Schwarber is a co-founder of CareerOyster, LLC. He brings ten years of broad business experience including four years of professional recruiting in the High Technology field. While recruiting at Custom Recruiting Services, Joshua became the top recruiter for candidate sourcing, recruiting, and job lead development. His expertise includes career-goal setting for job candidates, polishing candidate resumes, preparing candidates for competitive interviews, presenting candidates to clients, and closing down offers. Further, while at Custom Recruiting Services, Joshua helped his clients by researching and finding job openings and client contacts that were located in the more hidden web levels of the Internet.
Joshua possesses a passion for coaching job candidates on job winning tactics and strategies for both sales and technology professionals. His additional skills include extensive experience in social networking, building networks of contacts and databases, executing sales calls, designing and delivering presentations, and managing overseas researchers and recruiters. Joshua’s earlier business experience includes retail sales, customer service and work in the mortgage and financial services arena.
Joshua also has experience in the Music/Entertainment Industry as a keyboardist and songwriter. Joshua has co-written and co-produced two albums, has performed in over 100 live shows, toured China, and has opened for several national acts.
Joshua earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Philosophy with honors from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Head Coach-SeniorOyster (Opening Soon): Peter Steyn
Once upon a time Peter Steyn was the Data Processing Manager at one of South Africa’s most prominent daily newspapers, The Star, in Johannesburg. After that he joined an IT recruiting company and has enjoyed over 30 years of working with talented professionals in the IT services industries.
As Managing Director of Johannesburg-based Computer Personnel Limited (CPL), Peter established a corporate working relationship with New York City-based international IT recruitment company, Personnel Sciences Incorporated (PSI - now RCG International). A result of that partnership was that Peter accepted an opportunity to join PSI and immigrated to the USA in 1986. He became a citizen of the USA in 2000.
Peter joined New Jersey-based Computer Consulting Services Corporation (CCSC) in 1990 and, for 15 years managed an organization involved in recruiting IT talent from the international marketplace – individuals with significant IT experience who wanted to work and live in the USA. Recruiting and relocating individuals and families from different countries required extensive coaching – preparing individuals and families for the different challenges facing them as they embarked upon possibly the biggest adventures of their respective lives.

Internet Marketing Director: Betsy Cagle
Ms. Cagle began her professional career in the technology sector over 20 years ago. As a veteran of six technology companies, she has experienced both the challenges and the excitement of managing one’s career through multiple corporate cultures and new ventures. Betsy’s expertise includes CRM Systems, Internet Marketing and Customer Service Support.
During her tenure in technology, she has served on numerous local and national technology boards. In 1993, Ms. Cagle helped to co-found Atlanta’s Women in Technology (WIT) association and served for 12 years in the roles of President, Vice President and the Director of Membership. When WIT, the Southeastern Software Association (SSA) and The Business & Technology Alliance (B&TA) joined forces in 1998 to form the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), Ms. Cagle was selected to move up to the TAG board where she served as a director for two years.
Eight years ago Ms. Cagle bid the corporate world adieu and has enjoyed her time as a consultant and entrepreneur. Along with her experience in recruiting and coaching, Betsy has made time for personal and spiritual growth and development, while supporting a diverse assortment of clients. She brings her new insights with her to CareerOyster and expects to help introduce CareerOyster's customers to a more expanded way of looking at long term career development.
Head Coach-TechOyster (Opening Soon): Stephen Stockdale
Stephen has been President of Polaris Communications, a predominant network computer integration company in Atlanta. Under his direction, captured the emerging Wireless Internet Market in 2002 and started a national wireless brand and successfully sold in late 2004.
Upon selling the technology company, Stephen jumped into the real estate market and became one of Georgia’s leading real estate investors and land developers.
His leadership career started upon his enlistment in the United States Coast Guard in 1989. Stephen served his country for five years touring out of Washington State, San Francisco, Guatemala, Columbia, S.A., Alaska, and finally to New Orleans. During his service in the U.S. Coast Guard, he attended Tulane University’s executive degree program.
Stephen’s has several career experiences. His first civilian job was as an accounts receivable and work-in-process manager for a New Orleans based company. Three years later, Stephen accepted a job offer as Operations Manager where he gained valuable knowledge in corporate finance and project management. Three years later, Stephen accepted a job offer as accountant for an Internet Service Provider. Stephen was quickly promoted to Comptroller overseeing all technical and financial operations. Simultaneously, Stephen was still continuing his education and earned his B.S. from York College of Pennsylvania.
Stephen has been published in many trade journals and magazines and was featured in Entrepreneur Magazine.
